The president of the country Nursultan Nazarbayev initiated the construction of a modern clinic in the capital. On behalf of the head of state, construction of the Republican Clinical Hospital for 240 places has begun in Astana. The facility was built by the British company Fitzpatriccontractors to resemble the Royal clinic in England. The opening ceremony took place in August 2001. Since that time, the status of the clinic has changed twice: from the Republican Clinical Hospital to the RSE (2003), then to JSC "National Scientific Medical Center" (2010).
Since 2005, NNMO has been the headquarters of the Euro-Asian Respiratory Society (EARO). Thanks to this activity, in 2007, Kazakhstan became a member of the Alliance for the fight against global respiratory diseases, a branch of the World Health Organization. In October 2007, with the support of the World Health Organization and the Ministry of Health and social development of the Russian Federation, the foundation "Assembly of Health" was awarded the title of laureate of the international prize of the NSC in the nomination "for contribution to the development of healthcare".
To implement the strategy for the development of cardiac surgery in Kazakhstan, a cardiac surgery service was opened in 2003 at the National Scientific Medical Center, where the first open heart surgery was performed in April 2004. A year later, on February 28, 2005, he carried out an interventional intervention to install a vascular stent. In 2008, the Department of children's cardiac surgery and the second cardiac surgery department for adults were opened, in 2010 the Department of Interventional Cardiology appeared, in 2012 the Department of arrhythmology.
Realizing in life the strategic goals of reducing mortality from diseases of the circulatory system, since 2009 the center has coordinated all cardiac and cardiac surgery services of the country. Employees of the NNMC assisted in the opening of Cardiology centers in all regions of Kazakhstan and in two major cities-Astana and Almaty, transferring high technologies to new clinics and training personnel. The Specialists of our center have developed and implemented standards for the management of patients with complicated cardiovascular syndrome.
Since 2012, the NSC has been undergoing organ and cell transplantation operations, and by the decision of the FDA, our center has been included in the database of safe clinics for international research. Realizing the importance of providing high-quality medical services, NSCC develops and constantly improves its management system, strives to be competitive in the world market and meet all international quality standards in its field. In June 2010, NSMO was certified to the level of "recognized perfection – 4 stars" of the EFQM model, in November 2012 it was certified to the level of "recognized perfection – 5 stars".
In addition, the NSC has introduced international standards for diagnostic laboratories EQAS (USA) and national accreditation standards for medical organizations. The center was one of the first to receive a certificate with the results of compliance with medical services by 98.7% according to the accreditation standards of the Ministry of Health and social development of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In 2010, a telemedicine department was opened, which expanded the geography of partnership, and in 2011 Corporate Social Responsibility was introduced.
In 2010, the European Business Association and the European Chamber of Commerce and industry recognized the NSC as "the best enterprise in Europe in the field of Medicine", the corresponding diploma was awarded. In 2012, NSMO was awarded the Asian Quality Award (anq, Hong Kong), in 2014 it was awarded the Paryz award for the introduction of new technologies in the field of Medicine, was awarded the European award for best practice (Brussels) and the European award for quality (Italy). In the same year, the center's specialists presented new research in the field of application of HIFU therapy in the treatment of Parasitic Diseases of internal organs and received the European award "for quality innovation".
The center develops and implements the most relevant areas of Health and medical science in Kazakhstan. The use of transplantation of various types of stem cells within the framework of highly specialized medical care makes it possible to solve the complex problems of the clinic of Internal Medicine and surgery. By the decision of the FDA (USA), NSCs were included in the database of safe clinics for conducting clinical international research.
