The National Scientific Medical Center (NSMC) Children’s Cardiac Surgery Center hosted an international master class and training course on “Reconstructive Heart Valve Surgery in Congenital Heart Defects.”
Within the framework of the master class, Professor Igor Eduardovich Konstantinov — cardiothoracic surgeon at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne (Australia), Professor at the University of Melbourne, Director of the Centre for Cardiovascular Genomics and Regenerative Medicine — actively participated in the clinical and educational activities of the center together with the pediatric cardiac surgery team.
From March 16 to 20, a training course on reconstructive heart valve surgery in children was conducted at the Pediatric Cardiac Surgery Center. The program included:
• preoperative clinical discussions
• intraoperative assessment and reconstructive procedures
• postoperative outcome analysis
• detailed multidisciplinary case reviews of patients with valvular pathology
The master class brought together specialists from leading medical centers in China, Germany, and Uzbekistan:
• Shanghai Children’s Medical Center (China)
• Clinics in Stuttgart and the University Hospital of Tübingen (Germany)
• National Children’s Medical Center (Tashkent, Uzbekistan)
Participants exchanged modern approaches to the treatment of complex congenital heart defects and discussed current trends in cardiac surgery, strengthening international professional collaboration.
Upon completion of the master class, Chairman of the Board of the National Scientific Medical Center, Abai Baigenzhin, presented certificates to the participants.
