During the event, advanced technologies were introduced to improve the treatment of cardiovascular diseases.
The National Scientific Medical Center has successfully implemented a new method for treating coronary arteries—intravascular lithotripsy (IVL).
What is Intravascular Lithotripsy (IVL)?
It is an innovative treatment for vascular stenosis caused by calcium buildup. The procedure is performed using the LiqMagic C balloon catheter, which safely breaks down hardened calcium deposits in the arteries, making stenting more effective and safer.
How does the procedure work?
1️⃣ A balloon catheter is inserted into the affected artery.
2️⃣ Low-frequency electrical impulses are delivered through the catheter.
3️⃣ These impulses break down calcium deposits and restore vessel elasticity.
4️⃣ The balloon expands, improving blood flow.
5️⃣ If needed, a stent is placed after calcium fragmentation.
